Following on from the announcement of their Summer Season run of events, Dublin’s National Concert Hall have announced a new schedule of events for Perspectives 2015; a slightly more cerebral series of immersive concerts. Taking place over the coming months, the schedule is as follows:
Jason Moran’s Fats Waller Dance Party – August 12th – Celebrating Fats Waller’s achievements in stride piano, Jason Moran reinstates jazz’s original position in American life: dance music.
Blood and the Moon: A Provocation on Yeats – September 13th & 14th – featuring Anna Calvi, Sam Amidon, Robert Forster, Nico Muhly, Cathal Coughlan, Justin Vivian Bond, Pat McCabe, Adrian Crowley, Benedict Schlepper-Connolly, Tom Kalin, Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) make new songs and music from the work of WB Yeats.
In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited – November 18th – A new live homage to the songs and music from David Lynch’s films with Stuart Staples (Tindersticks), Jenny Beth (Savages), Mick Harvey (The Bad Seeds), Cibo Matto, Stealing Sheep, Sophia Brousm and Kirin J Callinan.
• Brad Mehldau: Solo Piano Three Pieces for Piano after Bach – December 16th – Brad Mehldau offers his characteristic respect in Three Pieces After Bach, a newly commissioned work by Carnegie Hall.
