New music: The Staves – ‘Mexico’

Recent support on James Vincent McMorrow’s UK tour, The Staves are a promising sister English folk trio from Watford made up of Emily, Camilla and Jessica. Raised by a Welsh mother with a penchant for male voice choirs, that influence has translated itself onto the self-titled track from their debut EP Mexico.

Glyn and Ethan Johns, a father and son duo who combined, have worked with The Eagles, The Faces, Ryan Adams, Laura Marling and Kings Of Leon co-produced the band’s debut album which is forthcoming in 2012.
