Hip Hop infused with smooth funk bass lines has already become the definitive sound of 2017 with Thundercat and Steve Lacy respectively releasing fantastic records recently. In Ireland, there is a quartet making music with as much infectious impact as its transatlantic counterparts. Since Super Silly released their debut single last year they have shown that they are serious about creating unique beats and writing clever lyrics that speak openly to their audiences, and they’re doing this extremely well.
The guys shared their music video debut with current single, ‘Not Ready To Leave’, a soulfully nostalgic RnB arrangement that will stay in your head long after you listen to it for the first time. The aesthetic evokes the bold colours of the late 1980s and see the boys generally having fun with their music.
Super Silly have been garnering praise rapidly following captivating live shows at Hard Working Class Heroes and Word Up Collective’s events showcasing the best acts in Irish Hip Hop and RnB. You can catch them live at Souletiquette’s third birthday celebration in Tengu this Thursday, March 16th.
