The acclaimed RTE series Other Voices has announced the details of its latest run, as ever taking place in St James’s Church in Dingle. Recording from 1st to 3rd December, the line-up so far features Aaron Dessner (The National), Kodaline, Local Natives (pictured), Luluc, Owen Pallet, Palma Violets, Paul Buchanan, SOAK, The Staves, The Strypes, The Unthanks, This Is The Kit and Villagers.
A new dimension to this year’s event is the announcement that RTÉ Two will broadcast live from St. James’ Church on Sunday December 2nd from 7pm to 9pm. Two artists confirmed for broadcast already are Villagers and Paul Buchanan, with more to be announced. Irish viewers will also be able to tune in and watch the performances live from Dingle on Sunday December 2nd and Monday December 3rd on RTE’s website.
This year also sees the addition of the Banter Salon at Other Voices, which will feature a number of discussions, conversations and talks on Saturday and Sunday at Foxy John’s from 4pm. Participants will include Guardian media writer Lisa O’Carroll, Jerry Kennelly (Stockbye and Tweak), Kieran Murphy (Murphy’s Ice Cream), historian Diarmaid Ferriter and poet Paul Muldoon. Following the Dingle recordings, Other Voices will head north in February 2013 for a three day residency at Glassworks in Derry-Londonderry on February 8th, 9th and 10th and then to London’s Barbican in April.
