Oxegen to change venue?

Kildare local newspaper the Leinster Leader is reporting that promoters MCD are considering calling time on Punchestown as a venue for the Oxegen festival after seven years. The paper claims that rising costs, many of them imposed by Kildare County Council, have forced them to review the racecourse as a viable venue. Punchestown racing manager Richie Galway commented that the loss of the event would threaten the future of the venue, although MCD themselves have offered no further information.
