Republic Of Loose, Ham Sandwich, Heathers, Royseven and more for Haiti benefit gigs

The Irish music community’s response to the Haiti earthquake continues apace with two more gigs being announced. Haiti Aid is at Whelan’s and the Village on Wednesday February 3rd, hosted by Michelle Doherty and featuring Ham Sandwich, O’ Emperor, The Chapters, Patrick Kelleher and his Cold Dead Hands, The Holy Roman Army, Sleep Thieves and Butterfly Explosion, with more to be added. Tickets are €20 from the usual outlets.

Phantom 105.2’s inaugural First Friday of 2010, meanwhile, takes place at the Academy in Dublin on February 5th, with Republic of Loose, Royseven, Heathers and Doris and guests on the line up. Live music will be followed by indie music club with Phantom Drive’s Richie Ryan on the decks till late. Proceeds from the night will benefit UNICEF Ireland’s emergency appeal for the children of Haiti. Admission is €5 on the door and doors are at 8pm.
