Ronan O’Snodaigh’s A Perspective series of gigs and Fundit campaign

A founding member of one of Ireland’s most celebrated World Music bands Kíla, Rónán Ó Snodaigh is rightly recognised as one of Ireland’s best and most innovative bodhrán players and a highly original singer songwriter. Described by one critic as ‘the living embodiment of Turlough O Carolan and Bob Marley’, and by fans as The Jimi Hendrix of Bodhrán, O’Snodaigh brings his solo musical output to the stage for five nights in Whelan’s between September and December of this year.

Dedicating an entire performance to each album and featuring the original players from each, O’Snodaigh plans to capture and release the footage before embarking on his sixth solo album this year. He’s got a Fundit campaign with just 6 days to go which is aiming to help raise funds for the shows. Expect to see 2010’s Water off a Duck’s Back (recorded with Liam Ó Maonlaí, Steve Cooney and Myles O Reilly -aka Juno Falls-), 2007’s The Last Mile Home, The Play Days from 2005, 2004’s Tonnta Ró and Tip Toe from 2001 over the dates and as a personal thank you to anybody who attends the entire run, O’Snodaigh will offer them exclusive access to the footage plus a downloaded album of their choice and a limited edition compilation album.

The shows, with advance tickets priced at €14 and €16 at the door or bundled at €55 inc. booking fee, are scheduled as follows:

Sept 11th Water Off A Duck’s Back
Oct 9th Last Mile Home
Oct 30th Play Days
Nov 20th Tonnta Ró
Dec 4th Tiptoe
