Scott Weiland found dead during tour

Scott Weiland, former frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has been found dead during his tour of the US. Weiland, who was 48 years old and had been touring with current outfit Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts, was found deceased on his tour bus while at a stop in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The controversial singer had battled with addiction for many years and, perhaps to his detriment, had been unceremoniously ejected from Grammy-award winning band Stone Temple Pilots, as well as Velvet Revolver, due to relapses and “erratic behaviour”.

In the wake of Weiland’s passing, many former bandmates, musicians and friends have made statements to pay tribute to the late iconic singer, with Juliette Lewis tweeting “Sad to hear about Scott Weiland passing. He was a once of a kind epic force onstage. Thoughts are with his family”.

While it has been stated that Weiland passed away in his sleep, no further information has been released.
