Simma Down festival postponed

It’s not been a good few weeks for the smaller events on the Irish festival circuit, with BARE In The Woods cancelled last month – followed recently by the Killarney Folk Festival. Now this weekend’s Simma Down one dayer, hosted by party crew Sim Simma and due to feature the likes of mynameisjOhn, Super Silly and Loah (pictured) has been pulled for the moment. Read the official statement below.

“For the past 12 months we have worked tirelessly to create the perfect festival environment, something new and unique that we felt people would truly enjoy. However, due to a last minute complication with licensing we are no longer confident that we can guarantee this to our attendees. We have persevered over the last few days to overcome this situation and are genuinely sorry to say that this is the most fair and reasonable solution we can offer you at this time.

We are confident that this situation can be rectified and we are dedicated to setting a new date in the coming weeks. We have issued a full refund to all ticket holders and you will receive email confirmation of this over the following 48 hours. Those that have bought tickets for the event will be offered first chance of refusal once a new date has been secured”.
