Top Story: State vs Phantom 105.2 free gig this week

It’s been a while since we did battle in the live arena, what with our Christmas Midnight Mass and last month’s Ones To Watch shows, so we’re delighted to be getting back into the ring this weekend. Joining us at the Mercantile on Friday 18th will be the good folk from Phantom 105.2 and a line up that features three of the brightest new names on the Irish scene, mixing a bit of punk pop with electronic and dance sounds.

Our headliners for the evening are Visionair, the new synth project from Richie Egan and Niall Byrne of the Redneck Manifesto. Phantom also look to their electronic side with Great Lakes Mystery, the new band from Gareth Averill. If you find yourself in need of some guitars, we suggest to check out this month’s Introducing….band, Dublin four piece Fred & Bob, who have been attracting kind words from Jim Carroll and Dan Hegarty to name but two. Get Facebooked here.

It all kicks off at 9pm and as ever, is completely free. In other live news, stay tuned for details of our first visits to Galway and Dundalk and this year’s Love Live Music Day event.
