State wins at Irish Web Awards 2010

We picked up Best Music Site in 2008 and lost out to some bloke called Nialler 9 last year, but Saturday night’s Irish Web Awards proved to be our most successful yet. We were utterly shocked and delighted to be given the prize for the Best Web Only Publication in the News and Media section, with the Irish Times winning the equivalent award for online / offline media. Our thanks go to Damien Mulley and his team, all the bands and labels who give us something to write about and of course the very fabulous State writers, photographers and filmmakers who keep the site running. Congratulations too to our friends at Ragged Words for picking up the Music prize this year.
