Midlands based mod-pop rockers The Aftermath have announced plans to release the debut single from their as-yet-untitled sophomore album. The lead single, titled ‘Lost Possession’, is out to buy/download from Sept 2nd.
Of the single, drummer Micheal Cronin said: “This first single is the most similar in style to our old stuff, the new album is quite dark and groove based. So ‘Lost Possession’ is a type of bridge in between the two albums”.
To conicide with the release, the band have confirmed several shows including a three night stint on The Word Stage at this year’s Electric Picnic.
Since their 2006 debut Friendlier Up Here, which debuted at number 11 in the Irish charts and spawned three top 20 hits, the band have shared the stage with acts such as Razorlight, Ian Brown and The Script as well as suporting The Pigeon Detectives on their Irish tour. After landing a distribution deal in Norway and Sweden, they have also spent the last two years building up a following in Sweden, where they’ve recently returned from playing the annual Peace & Love festival.
