The Chieftains 50th anniversary album features Bon Iver, The Decemberists, Lisa Hannigan & more

Irish folk linchpins The Chieftains will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a new studio album and world tour, culminating in a special St. Patrick’s Day show at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The band will play Dublin’s Grand Canal Theatre on May 29th.

The album, produced by T-Bone Burnett, is entitled Voice of Ages, and features collaborations with Bon Iver, The Decemberists, Punch Brothers, The Secret Sisters, The Low Anthem, The Civil Wars, Pistol Annies, Carolina, Chocolate Drops, Lisa Hannigan, Carlos Nunez, Paolo Nutini and Imelda May – artwork below.

You can hear ‘Down in the Willow Garden’ with Bon Iver over on Pitchfork. We recommend the click, it’s a pretty sweet listen.
