The Grammys 2011 in videos: Cee-Lo, Gaga, Arcade Fire, Janelle Monae, Muse, Eminem, Mumford & more

The Grammys took place in LA last night and winners included a surprising choice in Arcade Fire for Best Album, Lady Antebellum’s ‘Need You Know’ won Record Of The Year and Song of The Year while Bieber lost out to jazz musician Esparanza Spalding in the Best New Artist category.

Other notable winners included La Roux for Best Electronic / Dance album and The Black Keys for Best Alternative album in Brothers. Full list of winners are here.

Anyway what we really care about is the performances. These videos will probably disappear once The Grammys get wind of them so do let us know if any are deleted. Huge thanks to The Audio Perv for uploading most of them. Why doesn’t the official Grammys Youtube channel do this?

Lady Gaga performed her chart-topping new single ‘Born This Way’ for the first time. Despite arriving in an egg (embryo = birth…yadda yadda), the performance was a solid one without any blood or meat dress weirdness. The hardest working woman in showbusiness.

Cee-Lo performs ‘Forget You’ with Gwyneth Paltrow and some Muppets.

Janelle Monae, B.O.B. and Bruno Mars performed ‘Nothin’ On You’, ‘Grenade’ and ‘Cold War’.

Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride performed a medley of Aretha Franklin hits. It went on a bit.

Bob Dylan + Mumford & Sons + The Avett Brothers. Somebody out there just creamed it.

Rihanna and Eminem performed ‘Love The Way You Lie Part 2’ before Skylar Grey and Dr. Dre joined Em for ‘I Need A Doctor’. (alt)

Muse – ‘Uprising’

Bieberferver! Bieber performs with Usher and Jaden Smith.

Mick Jagger and Raphael Saadiq performed Solomon Burke’s ‘Everybody Needs Somebody to Love’.
