Renowned for their wild live shows and rather smart attire, Dublin band The Pacifics have spent the last couple of years plying their trade up and down the country with their attempts to capture the vitality and raw soul of classic rock’n’roll plus slices of the Hamburg-era Beatles, The Sonics and Chuck Berry. This hard graft finally paying off, their debut album, Pacifically is to be released by Blood Red Records on August 11th.
Recorded with Jim Diamond (the White Stripes, the Dirtbombs), and described as “fourteen loud and snotty songs” recorded in a staggering 6 hours, it is to be launched with a one-off live performance of the album on the night of it’s release. Catch the band, with support from The Sisters, The #1’s, Women’s Murder Club and Cravingz at Sweeney’s on Dublin’s Dame Street at 9pm. Admission is €5.
