John Banville, Robert Fisk and Joe Queenan are the latest additions to this year’s Flat Lake Festival in Clones Co. Monaghan, with a strong hint that Limerick’s finest, The Rubberbandits, will be performing.
The Literary & Arts Festival takes place on the grounds of Hilton Park on June 3rd, 4th & 5th with have music from Mundy, Jinx Lennon, The Amazing Few, Aidan Coleman and The Sons of Robert Mitcham.
There will be talks and workshops from writers, organizer Pat McCabe says they have, “the Joycean genius of John Banville and the erudition, scholarship and wisdom of Ulick O’Connor and Anthony Cronin, the Gaelic singularity of Louis de Paor and the peerless Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill, the scabrous passions of Joe Queenan and the scintillating prose of Anne Haverty and Christine Dwyer Hickey, the incisiveness of Rosita Sweetman and the lyricism of Claire Kilroy, Peter Murphy and Ted McCarthy… and lots, lots more.”
The Clones Film Festival marquee will be showing Bob Quinn’s last film, Vox Humana, followed by a Q&A with the director.
