The Virgin Prunes added to Analog Festival

Virgin Prunes

Rumours that haircuts broke up the band back were sadly unfounded.

Analog has announced that three ex-Virgin Prunes (David-Id Busaras, Guggi and Gavin Friday) will take the stage for their first live performance together in some 25 years as The Three Pruned Men at this year’s Analog Festival, joining Lou Reed, Tim Robbins and more in the all-star cast for Hal Willner’s Rogues Gallery.

This one-off reunion is a major addition to the event. They join a typically unique Willner all-star cast for Rogues Gallery that includes:

New York Legend Lou Reed
Oscar-winner Tim Robbins
Folk Legends Waterson: Carthy
Singer-songwriters Teddy Thompson And Ed Harcourt
Pere Ubu’s David Thomas
Seattle Blues Icon Baby Gramps
New Folk Starlets Julie Fowlis And Rachel Unthank

Analog, a weekend of new, progressive music in Dublin’s Docklands runs from 18-20 July 2008, is curated by Note Productions and commissioned by Dublin Docklands Development Authority. Rogue’s Gallery Tickets 49.95 Euro including booking fee from

This is really good news as I never thought they would really reform in any format. I am rather relieved that they haven’t dug out the frocks, along with Dik, Mary and Strongman to do some form of ‘Gothic’ revival tour. Not that they were ever gothic but I have had nightmares of the whole band performing, in a dreadful attempt to capture their bygone glory!
