Tinie Tempah , Mumford and Sons, Plan B and The XX pave the way in The Brit Awards 2011 nominations

South London sensation Tinie Tempah, has topped the award nominations for this years Brit Awards 2011 with four category nominations, including the prestigious Mastercard British Album of the Year award. His debut album Disc-Overy went to number one following its release last October.

For me it’s just celebrating the best in British music and so to be nominated for four is pretty incredible.

Mumford and Sons, Plan B, The XX and Take That area also battling it out for the British Album of the Year award.

Other acts nominated for multiple awards include Ellie Goulding, Cheryl Cole, Take That, Rumer, Cee Lo Green, Arcade Fire, Katy Perry and Eminem who all received nominations in two categories.

Dublin band The Script have been nominated for Best International Group alongside contenders such as Arcade Fire, Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon and Vampire Weekend. The band topped both the Irish and UK charts last year with their second album Science & Faith.

Rhianna, Tinie Tempah, Take That and Plan B will all perform at this years awards ceremony alony with further acts to be confirmed. The ceremony is being hosted by James Corden and will take place on Feb 15 in the O2 Arena in London.
