Van Dyke Parks’ European tour details

Iconic music composer and producer Van Dyke Parks has announced details of his European tour and some festival spots which starts in Dublin on May 15th.

Famed for his work with Brian Wilson, Randy Newman and Ry Cooder, Parks has more recently worked with Joanna Newsom among others and will release a series (five in total) of 7″ singles throughout 2011.

He selected five contemporary American artists (Frank Holmes, Charles Ray, Art Spiegelman, Ed Ruscha, Billy Edd Wheeler) to illustrate each single describing them as ‘a work of art that relates to the music within.’

Van Dyke Parks is touring with Brooklyn-based chamber pop act Clare and The Reasons, playing a seated show in The Button Factory in Dublin on May 15th. Tickets are priced at €27 and go on sale this Wednesday, April 13th – available on Ticketmaster.
