Video: Black Eyed Peas Super Bowl show

Oh god, the horror. While there are still those that will tell you that the Black Eyed Peas are ‘one hell of a live band’, the group themselves continue to prove the opposite on the most prominent stages around the world. They don’t come much larger than the Super Bowl half time show (still a hard to understand concept on this side of the world, it’s not like we get this as Shamrock Rovers every week). For a full twelve minutes (twelve minutes!) they hollered their way through a greatest hits set that featured special guests Slash and Usher. Most impressively they managed vocals that were both autotuned and tuneless at the same time. That takes some doing. Enjoy….

The response to their appearance on the show was, shall we say, mixed…..

  • I’ve heard the Black Eyed Peas are a hell of a live band argument a few times. I once sat through them at Glastonbury as I wanted to be at the front for someone else and I couldn’t even bring myself to pretend to enjoy it. I think the Superbowl showed why – absolutely dire. Fergie couldn’t hit a note if we’d given her all week.
