Video: REM – Supernatural Superserious

REM video

Not long now before Mr Stipe, Mr Mills and Mr Buck unleash their 14th studio album Accelerate (March 31st), hailed as a return to form and function. First single “Supernatural Superserious” sounds like old-school REM with more swerve and vigour than they’ve displayed in the last 10 years or so.

The largely black and white video has a behind the scenes ethos, thanks to director Vincent Moon, who you may know from his excellent Takeaway Show series where musicians are captured in gritty acoustic reality on the streets of Paris and beyond. The video plays out like last year’s Dublin working rehearsal gigs, as a run-through for an actual non-existent video which shows the band jamming in a wine shop.
