Vulfpeck play Vicar Street

Since 2011 Michigan’s largely instrumental group Vulfpeck have been putting the F in funk with their own brand of unashamedly playful compositions. With their early EPs receiving widespread acclaim, they made headlines in 2014 when they gave the finger to internet streaming site, Spotify, by releasing an album of silence entitled “Sleepify”. Much to Spotify’s chagrin, Vulfpeck urged their fans to stream that album on repeat during the night while they slept, in order to raise funds for an admission-free tour.

Vulfpeck have since been riding the wave generated by the success of their 2015 album Thrill of the Arts, and with their new LP due out in October this year they continue to gather acclaim. With their Dublin performance originally scheduled for The Sugar Club, the concert has since been moved to Vicar Street, having sold out the former in a matter of hours after tickets went on sale.

Those lucky enough to have snapped one up in time will also be treated to a support slot by Joey Dosik. Backed by members of Vulfpeck, Dosik has performed and recorded with the band and is credited with penning one of their most popular tracks, “Game Winner”, which is also featured on his own 2016 EP of the same name.  Check out the vids below for a sense of what to expect.
