Angling ever so gently toward Boards of Canada style electronica whilst remaining staunchly on their own creative terms , ‘Wild Flowers’ from Solar Bears is a pretty perfect example of how to use synths & sequencers. Swells, stabs and arpeggiated, sawtooth waves collide and clack with syncopated breaks over the course of three minutes, reminding us that this Dublin duo are a force to be reckoned with. The only issue we’re groaning about is that ‘Wild Flowers’ needs to be about twenty mins longer. A perfect world, people, a perfect world.
The video too sits enviably comfortable atop the track, shifting and transforming in a psychedelic splurge of wild flowers and natural shots, courtesy of Michael Robinson.
‘Wild Flowers’ is taken Solar Bears; forthcoming third album, Advancement (Out March 18th via Sunday Best Recordings).
