Watchmen Soundtrack

If the soundtrack album is anything to go by, the forthcoming Watchmen movie should prove pretty interesting. Abandoning the usual action film preference for loud and flashy rock music, this particular collection features the likes of Nat King Cole’s ‘Unforgettable’, Janis Joplin’s ‘Me And Bobby McGee’ and Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ as well as K.C. & The Sunshine Band, Simon & Garfunkel and Jimi Hendrix. The only new track is a My Chemical Romance cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Desolation Row’, which is actually pretty neat.

All of which makes you wonder how such tunes could possibly fit into a super hero movie, although the talk is that Watchmen isn’t your average example of the genre. All in all, we’re pretty excited.

Thanks to our friends at Warner Music we have five copies of the soundtrack to give away. To win just email with the name of the graphic novelist who created the Watchmen. The competition closes at 5pm on Tuesday March 10th. In the meantime, get ready for this…..

and apropro of nothing in particular, here’s Pop Will Eat Itself’s tribute to Watchmen and all things related….

I was looking for the best deal on the Watchmen soundtrack, both the score and the songs from the movie.
At yesterday I was able to buy to soundtrack for only $6.99. So if you’re looking to get it, that’s the place!
