Next Thursday, September 24th, will see a worldwide celebration of Arthur’s Day – a musical event to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the lease at St James’s Gate Brewery. Although there are gigs happening across the globe (including New York, Lagos,YaoundÃ© and Asia), it’s fitting that Dublin should be hosting the biggest party of all. Kicking off at 17:59 local time, the capital in four venues – Tripod (Calvin Harris, Soul II Soul), Whelans (David Gray, The Enemy, Lisa Hannigan), Vicar Street (Sugababes, Razorlight , Reverend & the Makers) and The Academy (The Kooks, Richard Hawley, Imelda May) and 28 pubs across the city.
In addition, a special invite only show will be taking place in the historic Hopstore 13 building at St. James’s Gate Brewery, featuring Tom Jones, Estelle and Kasabian. You can’t buy tickets for this but State.ie, thanks to our friends at Guinness, have a pair of VIP tickets to pass on. To be in with a chance of winning just email the name of Estelle’s debut album to firstname.lastname@example.org by 6pm on Friday 18th September. You and your guest must be over 18 to enter and ID will be required to collect your prize.

There are still limited tickets available for some of the 28 Dublin pub venues, offering the unique experience of seeing two well known artists and one special guest performance. All the special guests performing in the four studio venues and in Hopstore 13 will make an unannounced appearance for 30 minutes when they perform live in an intimate pub setting.
