Spirit of Folk festival is a new 3-day festival is set to take place in Dunderry Park, County Meath on September 23rd, 24th and 25th showcasing acts from the UK and Ireland folk scene while offering “a whole range of sounds, from chilled out folk singer-songwriters, to upbeat, expansive folk-rock, to some traditional seisún tunes”.
On the bill are Lisa OʼNeill, Dr Strangely Strange, Gay Woods of Steeleye Span, Fiach, Rhob Cunningham, The Young Folk, Owensie, Hot Sprockets, St John the Gambler and more – full list of artists here.
There will also be a Living History area, where “you can see ancient crafts and skills brought to life by our experimental archaeologists, and you’ll get the chance to witness some of our weaponsmith’s products in action (from a safe distance) at our battle re-enactments”, as well as spirituality workshops in a specially constructed Shamanic dome. The weekend kicks off with a Ceili Mór on the Friday and guests are encouraged to bring their own musical instruments and join in the session.
Tickets are priced at €95 for the weekend, there are a limited number of Saturday at €59 and children under 12 go free – available from Tickets.ie.
